Cajun Butter Steak Bites
A spicy steak recipe for your eating pleasure
Ingredients
Seasoning
- 2 tbsp mild paprika for more mild spice, use 1 tsp instead
- 3 tsp salt
- 3 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp chili powder omit this for less spice
- 1-1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 to 1-1/2 tsp cayenne pepper you can omit this or add more depending on how spicy you like it
Steak
- 4 ribeye steaks you can choose the cut of your choice but we prefer ribeye's
- 2 to 4 tbsp canola oil (divided)
- 1/2 c butter
- 4 cloves garlic (finely chopped) you can also use 1 tsp of minced garlic for each clove
Instructions
- Cut the steak into 2 inch pieces. I normally trim the fat off them first but that is totally your choice
- Combine all the seasoning ingredients together in a bowl and coat the steak pieces with all the seasoning. The seasoning is also a way of tenderizing the meat so I'll let the steak sit in the seasoning for a good 30 minutes before cooking
- Heat 2 tsp of the oil into a skillet or pan over medium heat
- Sear the steak bites in batches until each side is crispy and browned. Add extra oil as needed. Once the steak has been seared, remove the pieces from the pan
- Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the skillet and heat until melted. Saute the chopped garlic until fragrant while deglazing the pan
- Take the pan off the heat and put the steak back into the pan. Coat the steak bites in the garlic butter to evenly coat.
